Miguel Hoffmann is assistant lecturer and design engineer specializing in mechanical design and manufacturing solutions for metal fabrication. He has earned his BS and MS degrees in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University, and is scheduled to start his PhD in industrial and systems engineering in May 2020. Mr. Hoffmann has four years of academic experience as an instructor and advisor, focusing on teaching students about the engineering design process and the practical application of computer-aided design and simulation tools to solve engineering and design challenges. He has conducted research on the design and optimization of auxetic patterned structures fabricated via additive manufacturing, and the application of shape memory polymers for morphic orthotics.
