Bio

Monica is a first-year Masters student at UC Davis in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering with the Human/Robotics/Vehicles Integration and Performance (HRVIP) Lab. She completed her BS in Chemical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) serving as student chapter president and Chem-E-Car Captain of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) student chapter.

Monica has experience working in pharmaceutical supply chain, petroleum process engineering, and consumer product research. She has also done internships at NASA's Kennedy Space Center to study plant growth in space and Johnson Space Center to research advanced technologies for the Environment Control and Life Support System (ECLSS) in the International Space Station (ISS).

For the HOME STRI, Monica is exploring ECLSS further and working on modeling and simulating Air Revitalization subsystems for future use in system-state prognostics technology supporting Research Thrust 2.
